About Amy
Amy Hess is very comfortable wearing many different hats in media production. She is an actress, host, voice over talent, producer, and writer. She studied with The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, The Groundlings, Janet Alhanti, and Ernie Lively. She worked in Hollywood for a decade both in front and behind the camera. Notable national television experience includes: In the Heat of the Night, Beverly Hills 90210, The Leeza Show, and The Easter Experience. Amy also has extensive experience as a host, producer, and writer for several regional magazine shows such as The Local Traveler, Kentucky Collectibles, and Kentucky Life. Most recently, Amy filled the role of Client Content Producer and Host for Best of the Bluegrass on WLEX.
Her greatest strength is taking a project from conception to completion. She created and founded the highly successful regional magazine show, The Local Traveler, where she served as Producer, Host, and Writer. The series ran for 5 seasons on CBS and PBS airing in multiple locations in Kentucky and Tennessee. She also hosted and produced Kentucky Collectibles and Kentucky Life episodes. Amy's work has been honored with 17 Regional Emmy Nominations, 5 Regional Emmy Awards, 3 Telly Awards, multiple ADDY Awards, a Summit International Award, as well as Media Person of the Year from the Kentucky DAR. Amy also served two terms on the Board of Governors for the Ohio Valley Emmy Chapter.
Additionally, Amy is a Certified Wellness Coach and has worked with thousands of clients. She also develops content for the health and wellness space.
